The festivities which we want to show you are very important to the local population, and their turn out is very high. They are iconic moments to see how locals gather together and sell traditional and artisanal products, as they are very hard to source. The battle of the Moors and the Christians in Port de Sóller

In the Port of Sóller every second of May one of the most iconic Mallorcan festivals takes place, the battle of the moors and the Christians. This peculiar tradition is one of the most eagerly awaited moments by the locals, who prepare for this date months in advance. As the name suggests, during this festival there is a simulation of the unsuccessful invasion by the Arabian pirates many centuries ago. It is a worthwhile experience to see and to prove this, large crowds of tourists attend every year. You are completely free to tag along with either the moors or the Christians, so the choice is completely yours.
